Centro Histórico y Barrio del

Carmen

Valencia, one of the oldest cities in Spain, was founded in 138 b.c by the Roman Empire and occupied by Muslims in 711. It was reconquered by Cristians in 1238, so Valencia offers an extendse cultural vision, where you cannot miss: Plaza de la Virgen y conjunto catedralicio, la Plaza de la Reina, las torres de Quart y de Serranos, Lonja de la seda, Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas, Mercado Central, Estación del Norte, Ayuntamiento, Los Baños del Almirante, walking through the beautiful calle de la Paz and have a look at Plaza Redonda. For those who are going to spend the Thursday in Valencia, you should not miss el Tribunal de las Aguas, the oldest legal institution in Europe, which controls the proper use of water for irrigation. It has been declared World Heritage.

Alboraya, Portsaplaya & Albufera

If you are interested in agriculture, we recommend you to take a Tour through La huerta Valencia! This route brings you from la huerta Valencia to Alboraya. There, you could see plots of chufas, tomatoes, pumpkin, artichokes, beans and cabbages, alternating plot after plot creating a multicolour mosaic, surrounded by traditional Valencian houses, las Alquerias! To resist the heat, take a horchata with fartons! Then, you can continue your route to Portsaplaya where you can see the harbour with colourful houses and take a rest on the jetty! Albufera means, according to its Arabic origin al-buhayra, the little sea or the small sea. The Albufera de Valencia is one of the largest lakes in Spain (23.94 km²) and is surrounded by 223 km² of rice fields. Its ecological value is of  great importance since there are species of great ecological value in danger of extinction (fartet and samaruc). Take a boat ride, it's worthy!

Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias &

Jardines del Turia

La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is an essential visit if you come to Valencia. This impressive modern building complex was created by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, who has become one of the icons of the city. It is the largest scientific and cultural complex in Europe to date, and occupies about two kilometres of the old Turia riverbed. You will need tickets to access the interior of L'Hemisfèric, the Science Museum and L'Oceanogràfic. You can buy these tickets together or separately depending on which building you would like to visit. Do not miss: Oceanogràfic, El Hemisfèric, Principe Felipe Science Museum, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, El Umbracle and El Ágora.

Playas & Jardines

If you would like to rest a bit of sightseeing and relax either by strolling through the gardens offered by the city or escaping to some of the beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean coast, here are some tips =) Do not miss: Jardines de viveros, jardines de Monforte, jardín botánico o parque de cabecera.
